The Laser cutter located in Washburn manufacturing laboratory and is available for use whenever a lab monitor is on duty. Please read the lab policies and guidelines on the manufacturing labs my.wpi.edu site.
Approved Materials for laser cutter
Acrylic
Delrin (Acetal copolymer)
Wood and paper based materials such as birch, balsa, or vanilla folder. (not plywood)
Cloth
Reserving the laser cutter
Reserving the laser cutter gives you priority but it is frowned upon to reserve the laser cutter for more than 2 hours at a time.
1. Go to http://www.wpihtec.org.
2. Login using your WPI credentials.
3. Click on "Machinetool Schedule".
4. Then add a calendar event to the calendar and select "laser cutter" along with persons name and projects name.
